NEVERTHELESS, NOT AS I WILL Himself. In the face of danger, therefore, ‘He himself knew what He would do ,’ according to John 6:6. Again, this prayer that is meant to be said on daily basis enables us to keep the custom of seeking God’s power to do His will ahead of the day of trouble. Our problem though has been that we have since come to treat the Lord’s prayer as a mild prayer at best, said only to fulfil all righteousness, if at all. Seeking to do the will of God in prayer is very important. Nothing mattered more to Jesus. He said that he only did what He heard from the Father and what he saw Him do. He said also that He came to do His will. Hebrews 10:5-7 NKJV Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. \[6\] In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. \[7\] Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’” This is surely the way to go. My hope is that through the insights we receive from this book, we will be encouraged to revisit the Lord’s prayer and once again, commit ourselves to it as a prayer 63.
