Frankee Razor
There is a strong inclination in music for computerized
beats and sounds for people to dance to. Frankee Razor is
the kind of musician who wants to take back the original
idea of music. His song, “Dirty Disco,” reminds us that music
should be fun. Razor uses higher notes and an upbeat
tempo to people a reason to dance and effortlessly enjoy
the music.
I can’t quite pin down what to call Razor’s style of music, but
it is a nice blend of influence and creativity. It’s a very
different sound, but it does remind me of “Mambo no. 5.”
Razor’s style, though, is very different. The music
throughout “Dirty Disco” keeps the momentum for moving
and grooving but what I really like is Razor’s voice. I
especially like the almost-acapella style that highlights his
singing. The song is so simple: it’s perfect for playing
obnoxiously loud while you’re cleaning the house or just in
general, to get the weekend started.
“Dirty Disco” is a catchy, upbeat song that’ll get you moving
and it’s a good way to start a playlist that is followed by
more of Razor’s music. Still, for as good as the music is,
Razor is more of a showman, and it’s worth to watch the
accompanying videos and see the performance. He is the
type of person that shows his passion by immersing himself
in his work because he has something to say, but not all of it
is communicated through the English language.
Frankee Razor has fun with his music so that his listeners
are able to do the same. “Dirty Disco” is a song to listen to
on your own or in any environment but I think it might be
best in the summer, lying by the pool. I’m keeping this one
on my playlist for the right moment under the sun: 9 of 10.
