Whatever your plans are this summer,
I hope that the sunshine and slower time from work gives you many happy memories.
HSummer, Summer, Summertime
"Summertime" lyrics and actually get to the heart of this article. I was going to write about membership and what TPCBA offers our members, but with this article I chose to make it more personal. I also just wanted to help get everyone hyped up for this explosion of sunshine and heat coming our way in July and August.
As I’m writing this, the weather is between these rain and cold spells in June, right before our Summer even begins. We all see Facebook or Instagram posts on how some are dreading the heat while others hate the rainy, cold weather. It comes down to three months in Washington which we expect to be pure sunshine. Everyone knows it is coming. We now have to find where we left our sunglasses or go buy a new pair. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a ridiculous obsession with sunglasses, so I invite the sun to come out anytime. I am always prepared.
Tacoma-Pierce County is an exciting place to be in the Summer. What hot things can we expect this season in
our area? Well, the Tacoma Farmer’s Markets, Downtown on Broadway or in the North End off Proctor
are always fun places to grab fresh flowers and check out other vendor stands. I also love the Strawberry and Blueberry Festivals, where I get to pick and eat berries to my heart’s desire.
As for the TPCBA Board, while we are still hard
at work on our yearly goals, there will be some time spent with just our
always skipped to give a proper Summer break, the next in-person TPCBA Board meeting will be September 17th after our Annual TPCBA Bar Convention.
If you have not signed up for the Bar Convention on September 13th-15th, do so NOW!!! – August 8th is the room cut- off date and August 20th is the TPCBA registration cut-off. It will again be a very exciting time for members and their families. I can’t wait for the amazing line-up of CLEs as well as the fun events planned. Last year was so much fun, but this year is expected to be epic. Of course the Annual TPCBA Bar Convention
will be a nice farewell event to our 2024 Summer.
Whatever your plans are this Summer, whether you are camping with the family or traveling abroad, I hope that the sunshine and slower time from work gives you many happy memories. After all, Summertime means "there’s an air of love and happiness..." and this is your TPCBA President’s new definition of Summer madness.
