We want you to be a part of our Law Day Team next
year. Law Day is a rewarding experience that I am
confident you would enjoy, but please don’t take my
word for it. Below are the reasons our Tacoma-Pierce
County Law Day Committee members participate in
this amazing event.
WHY DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN LAW DAY?
“It is enjoyable to step back and take a moment to
appreciate our legal tradition, which offers a great deal
to celebrate. And yet, there is still a lot more work to do,
and so it is critical to invite the next generation in. Who
knows whose story might spark a new passion? There’s
only one way to find out!” - Judge André M. Peñalver
“It is a great way to give back to the community and
explain what we do.” – Judge Karl Williams
“Paying it forward and provide an opportunity for
students to connect with legal professionals in a casual
setting.”
– Commissioner Pedro Chou
“I participate in Law Day with the hope that I can inspire
young people to want to learn more about the law and to
understand how important the law is to a free society.”
– Commissioner Randall Hansen
“I participate in Law Day because it allows teenagers to
interact with legal professionals and to learn more about
the law and their constitutional rights.” – Patrick Brown
“It is a good opportunity to connect with the community
and encourage youths to get involved.” – Jessica Campbell
“I participate in Law Day because it provides students
with a rare opportunity to engage in a proper dialogue
with legal professionals in a very low-pressure
environment.”
– Neil Stubbs
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LAW DAY?
“The interaction between the students and panel is
exhilarating.” – Judge Karl Williams
“While the topic and presentation are informative, the Q
& A session with the panel brings tremendous value for
the students and by far the most engaging and enjoyable
part of Law Day.” – Commissioner Pedro Chou
“I enjoy interacting with my community and seeing kids
engage in Law Day discussions and asking the right,
difficult questions.” – Patrick Brown
“Getting the kids engaged!” – Jessica Campbell
“My favorite thing about Law Day is when the students
lean into the presentation and start asking meaningful
and impactful questions. Each year our panel is asked
some very high level and impressive questions. The
students are always very engaged.” – Neil Stubbs
