WHY SHOULD SOMEONE VOLUNTEER FOR LAW DAY?
“Explaining what we do and what part we play in democracy is essential.
It is our responsibility to get into our community and get the word out.
Another great reason is that it is just plain fun.” – Judge Karl Williams
“To give back to the community we are all a part of.”
– Commissioner Pedro Chou
“Someone should volunteer for Law Day because the future of our democracy
is in the hands of young people.” – Commissioner Randall Hansen
“Law Day allows legal professionals to give back to the community. More
often than not, children never meet or interact with lawyers or judges, so
it is a special moment for the children when they get to speak with legal
professionals about real legal issues. Law Day is rewarding, and it helps plant
the seed to encourage teenagers to join the legal profession.” – Patrick Brown
“It is rewarding to have a positive impact in the community separate
from the negative associations most kids have of the court system.”
– Jessica Campbell
“Volunteering for Law Day is important because it provides students with
an opportunity to ask questions about our democracy that they may not
have the ability to ask elsewhere.” – Neil Stubbs
