Ushuaia is where the Pan America highway
ends. I have only met one man who drove his
way down from the north tip of the highway
in Alaska all the way down here during our
Panama Canal Cruise. He is a high school
teacher in the state of Washington and he
broke the long drive of 30, 000 Kilometers
( or 19,000 miles in total length) into 7 or 8
        summers.

We were treated to a five-star lunch complete
with black haka fish in Arakur hotel located
near the summit of the island where we had
a scenic view of the surrounding Martial
Mountains and the Beagle Channel, the
gateway to Antarctica. The high forests offer
cool air, low lying vegetation, lots of beech
trees and evergreens that keep it green year-
        round.
