2.3 Long Arm Cast: Introduction
The long ar m cast is a commonly used immobilization device in or thopedic
practice, designed to stabilize fractures of the upper ex tremit y involving the
elbow, proximal radius or ulna, and midshaft of these bones. Below, we discuss
fracture t ypes commonly managed with a long ar m cast, including their clinical
presentation, anatomy, and management considerations.
