Maria and Bibi immediately sit down on the couch after the light has been

turned on; the others place themselves in the armchairs, while Janokovic sits on
the floor with Nigel. Janokovic pulls forth the bag of drinks.

"Help yourselves,” he says, “Matt are getting some more"

Dan turns on the cassette recorder standing on the floor in one corner of the
room with his guitar. He turns it all the way up, so they have to yell at each other

to hear what’s being said.

They drink and smoke as they’re listening to the music. A little later in the night,
Eik and Bibi want to go down and get some food and drinks.

Eugene is the only one noticing the hard knocking on the door; it’s Matt and
Winnie.

"Oy, Jano," Eugene asks as they sitting down and eating. “Can you please tell me

how you got a hold of all that cash? What have you been betting on? We could
use a couple of tips for that sort of gambling. ”

"Okay, I'll tell you about it, but tomorrow in the morning, I'm way too drunk

now. There’s a lot to it," Janokovic says, while shortly afterwards falling asleep
again on the living room floor.

Chapter 8

Bloodlust

Eugene looks at his worn-out wristwatch – it’s 3am. He has been nodding off for

a little while, but hasn’t been really been sleeping, he couldn’t considering how

much money the boys have on them.
The flat is completely dark, only the tape recorder is still running; the only light

is from the moon, which gives a pale surrealistic glow over the drunken

assembly. Matt has been vomiting all the night; with Winnie has been hysterical
yelling out that they should get him to the hospital. Eugene helped them with

two sunbeds in one of the rooms, and he had provided them with two quilts as
well, both of them falling into a heavy sleep.
