Janokovic decides to move on. His trouser pockets are thick with notes. He pulls
his T-shirt as far as he can down the waistband, lowers his shoulders and tries to
hide the bumps as best he can.
Shortly after, he arrived at Curry House. His heart starts beating faster; he goes
by as quietly as he looks through the window. A curtain of red and yellow colours
covers half of the window, so he can't see the front tables where Ana-Mother and
Jack usually sit when eating dinner. He goes a little closer and looks in through
the glass door.
Fortunately, he can't see Mom and Jack, and Jack's Ford is nowhere to be seen.
"Jano!" Calls a voice behind him.
It’s like he was hit with a hammer in the head. He turns around and behind him
stands Eik, Matt and George laughing.
"What the hell, I was really scared," he says.
"Look here," Eik says, pointing to a small pile of bags that lie inside the cavity
that separates Curry House and the building next to each other.
"It's gold, Jano," Eik says proudly.
"Let's get in and have a drink."
Matt is impatient, he knows from experience that it's about
getting swapped out of the way after a robbery, whether big or small.

"If all bags are empty, have them thrown over the wall to the next door," says
Matt.
"Yes, toss ‘em over," Janokovic agrees.
George and Eik quickly start throwing the bags over the wall of the neighbouring
property adjacent to Curry House. Meanwhile, Janokovic and Matt keep being on
the lookout.
Afterwards, they just as quietly enter through the door of Curry House. A strong
smell of frying oil, cigarette-smoke and burnt curry hits them. A bum with a long
beard and a worn coat sits at one of the window tables facing the street. Further
in, an elderly couple sits and drinks.
A jukebox plays a loud and scant version of "Can't Buy Me Love" by The Beatles.
