                      6        Now we double the knot by making a complete   7b           Stage seven, seen from the side.

                               turn with each strand under and alongside the
                               first wall strand and staying below it to tuck
                               up as shown. East goes around the compass to
                               exit north, north goes around the compass to
                               exit west, and so on. Be careful not to mix the
                               strands. It may help you to number them so that
                               you do not tuck the same strand twice.










                                                                         8        Here we have started tucking the south-facing


                                                                                  strand down into the space that exists on its
                                                                                  left side from the earlier crowned strand.






                      7a              Here all the wall strands are doubled


                                      and we have tightened up all strands a
                                      little, to give a more spherical shape.







                                                                         9        And here we see all four strands tucked down,

                                                                                  completing the doubling of the crowned
                                                                                  strands into the centre, where they are drawn
                                                                                  below the knot.
