Nitrogen, the first number you see on a fertilizer bag
analysis (46-0-0), is the most important element that is
applied to turfgrass. It is also the most limiting,
meaning if nitrogen levels are not adequate in the
plant, many other elements for turfgrass growth
become unavailable for plant uptake. In many cases of
having a poor turfgrass stand, ensuring nitrogen levels
are adequate will solve these issues.
