Most are familiar with the aerification process but
there is more to it than just poking holes in the
grounds. This process is extremely beneficial to turf, as
it allows oxygen flow, reduces compaction from traffic,
reduces thatch and promotes gas exchange in the soil.
Unlike putting greens, it is usually not a necessary
process for the typical home lawn, albeit a beneficial
one.
