CCCC Tennis Facility Upgrade Project - 2022
WOW – things are happening around the club. The golf course project is past the halfway mark as we see the grass starting to be
laid down and October will be here before we know it. On the tennis side, your Country Club Board recently approved the Tennis
Facility Upgrade Project.
The Tennis Upgrades include changing the current lighting system to an LED System
which will be more cost effective in the future and much easier on the eyes. Along
with the lights, courts 4 - 6 and 7 - 10 will receive an asphalt overlay and resurface
which will add decades of life to our courts. This will eliminate all current cracks
and court deterioration. The rusting chain link fence will be replaced with black
vinyl coated fencing that will continue throughout the facility – this includes the
fence from the side of court 6 through court 11. The fence between courts 8 and 9
and the fence between 10 and 11 will be lowered to look like the fence along court
4. Awnings/shade covers will be added to court 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11. The awnings
12
will look like the awnings that are on the clay courts. Lastly, the current wooden
water cooler stands, and white plastic benches will be replaced by Prestwick
Furniture similar to those on court 4. Once completed – your tennis facility will be
the best in South Texas.
The project is set to begin on August 1st and be completed by September 30th. This means that around August 1st we will be down
to 3 courts – the two clay courts and court 3. I know that it will be a huge inconvenience, but the result will be well worth the
pain. We chose August because it is a transition month, school is starting back, and league tennis begins in the middle of
September. Our amazing staff of tennis professionals are going to take turns taking some time off to travel and visit their families.
If you want to play tennis during this period, please call the tennis shop to make a court reservation – we will make every effort to
accommodate everyone’s needs and wants.
Projected Timeline:
*August 1 – Fence removal begins and holes for the awnings are core drilled
*August 1 – LED Lighting is installed by Bolt Energy
*August 5 – Premier Court begins the asphalt overlay on courts 4 - 10
*August 22 – South Texas Canvas installs the poles for the awnings and J&S Fencings installs the fence
*September 5 – Premier Courts begins the court resurfacing
*September 26 – Tennis Facility is completed
We are very excited to get this project started and completed so that you can have a beautiful tennis experience at your Corpus
Christi Country Club.
