Positioning for Success
Lifestyles are changing and if our club is going to remain successful, it
must be in a position to respond to the new and evolving demands
members place on the modern country club. The purpose of forward
planning is to appeal to multiple generations of members- both
existing and potential. Our Club will only remain successful if we
continue to offer experiences and services that are relevant to current
and anticipated lifestyles. In order to identify what the future may
hold for private clubs like ours, we have studied trends in society and
the club industry, with a special interest in the evolving demands the
various age groups are placing on private clubs. Our analysis
identified that substantial changes are taking place at private clubs
all across North America. In general, the movement encompasses both
golf-centric activities and family-oriented lifestyle models where the
club serves as a vehicle for a wide variety of activities and programs.
While a great golf experience is an essential part of the overall
experience, very much so is the family experience.
Indoor and outdoor casual dining experiences for both adults and
families
The desire for clubs to be a casual drop-in place where members
can gather and socialize in different areas with limited restriction to
families and children
Upgrading the current dining outlets to offer a seamless experience
Convenient food and beverage options while playing a round of golf
Upgraded tennis facilities
The conditions of court surfaces and the experience
Overall aesthetics of the club facilities
Upgraded Clubhouse amenities
The overall course experience
Lifestyle trends and demographics continue to change in ways that will
affect the private club world. Only those clubs that are the most
responsive and well-maintained will be positioned to succeed. That is
why we are planning for the future.
