Verticutting
Verticutting
Vertical mowing, or verticutting, is an extremely
beneficial and necessary practice for golf course
putting greens. This practice helps eliminate
unwanted thatch buildup, removes aggressive
stolons that hinder ball roll, and promote upright
growth of the turf plant. A light verticut, or
grooming, is performed weekly to bi-weekly during
the growing season to maintain optimum ball roll.
A big thank you to Seth Smith and his Grounds Crew for making our
greens look great!
