Have you ever wondered why certain grass and golf courses seem
to stripe up in the light and dark green patterns?
These golf courses are mowed with a reel mower which has rollers
on the front and back of the cutting unit. When mowing, the back
roller pushes the grass blades forward making the grain of the turf
lean one direction. When the mower changes directions, the grass
blades are pushed to the other direction. See above for visual.
