The second-most essential element for
plant growth is phosphorus. It is key for
adequate root growth of the turfgrass. Due
to not readily leaching or moving in the soil,
phosphorus applications are not needed as
much as nitrogen. A soil test will be the
best indicator of how much phosphorus to
apply to the turf.
