Key
Poa annua, or annual bluegrass, is one of the most
troublesome weeds in turf. Once temperatures start to
average in the mid-70’s, this plant begins its
germination cycle. Make sure to apply a pre-emergent
herbicide prior to germination. This will be key to
control of this and other winter weeds in your lawn.
Early to mid-October is a good time frame for an
application, before we start to average those mid-70’s
temperatures.
