Alternative tourism, also known as specific interest tourism (SIT)
involves travel that encourages interaction with local government,
people and communities. Many travelers choose alternative
tourism because they love nature and want to preserve it. Some of
the approaches by alternative tourism involve ecotourism,
adventure tourism, rural tourism, sustainable tourism, solidarity
tourism, etc.
