Read and answer the questions.
Long ago, cave artists liked painting pictures on the walls
and ceilings of their caves. They used small lamps to see their
paintings because it was very dark inside the caves. We can
see very old paintings of animals and birds in some caves today
and sometimes the paintings tell a story.
The colours in cave paintings are usually black, red, yellow, orange and brown.
The colour black comes from charcoal. Artists used this to draw the lines of the
animals. The colours red, yellow, orange and brown come from rock powder.
Artists mixed the powder with water to make paint and they used their
fingers and small twigs from trees to put the paint on the cave walls.
