The Tzurba M’Rabanan series was written and collated by Rav Benzion Algazi, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat
Hesder Ramat Gan. This formed the basis for the Tzurba M’Rabanan Institute, which he founded,
with the encouragement of Rav Mordechai Eliyahu z”l in 2003. There are currently over 10,000 people
learning the Tzurba M’Rabanan series on a weekly basis. Tzurba M’Rabanan comprises 300 topics from
all four sections of the Shulchan Aruch, and is learnt on a weekly basis as a four-year cycle.
The Selwyn and Ros Smith and Family – Manhigut Toranit Program is a five-year post-semicha program
for exceptional students. The program is a partnership between Eretz Hemdah and World Mizrachi in which
the students undergo a rigorous curriculum preparing them as Torah leaders in the Diaspora, where they serve
for a minimum of three years.
The program has taken on the task of translating all the Tzurba M’Rabanan shiurim into English, making it
accessible to the English-speaking population. Further iyun essays, written by the participants of the program,
can be found at the end of each shiur.
The Mizrachi World Movement is the global Religious Zionist movement, driven by its mission to
disseminate Torat Eretz Yisrael around the world, and strengthen the bond between the worldwide Jewish
community and the State of Israel, in the spirit of the verse, “For the Torah shall go forth from Zion, and the
word of God from Jerusalem.” The re-energized World Mizrachi aims to inspire people with a deep sense of
commitment to the Torah, the Jewish people and the Land of Israel.
World Mizrachi has made education a focal point of the Movement’s activites, partnering in the Tzurba
M’Rabanan series to spread high-level Torah to the English-speaking world via its local branches and associate
organizations.
The Eretz Hemdah Institute has been at the vanguard of producing talmidei chachamim for the Religious
Zionist world for the past three decades. It has produced many responsa for modern-day questions that have
arisen over the last two decades. Some of these responsa are included at the end of the shiurim.
