                                                      BACKGROUND
                                                      Principals Bruce Brooks, Brad Randall and Chuck Argue lead
                                                      a staff of 18 engineers and support personnel. Since 1980,
                                                      Bruce E. Brooks & Associates (BBA) has been providing en-
                                                      gineering  designs  for  mechanical,  electrical,  plumbing,  fire
                                                      protection and life safety systems, along with lighting design,
                                                      daylight and energy modeling, and energy audits.
                                                        Our goal is to create buildings with systems that are safe
                                                      and healthy for the people who interact with them, and to
                                                      help owners obtain the best construction dollar value, both
                                                      in initial costs and in operating, repair and replacement costs.

                                                      UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS
                                                      Historic preservation and restoration has been at the heart
                                                      of BBA’s work from the beginning. Our extensive experience
                                                      positions us to guide the owner in making choices about cost
                                                      effective and efficient upgrades while protecting the historic
                                                      integrity of the building. Additionally, we specialize in con-
                                                      trolled environments necessary to protect artifacts such as
                                                      rare  books  and  museum  exhibits  that  so  often  accompany
                                                      historic preservation.
                                                        Our  conditions  assessment  and  master  plan  efforts are
                                                      focused on assisting the owner in determining the MEP
                                                      infrastructure to meet the project goals, exploring various
                                                      options of providing this infrastructure  and guiding the owner
                                                      to the best long-term system choices, based on rigorous life
                                                      cycle analysis.

                                                        LEED Platinum, Gold and Silver certified.

                                                      •  Environmentally specialized. We’ve built a reputation in the
                                                        analysis and design of facilities with specialized environmental
                                                        and reliability mandates. Examples range from the design of
                                                        archive spaces with strict temperature, humidity, fire protection
                                                        and UV light level constraints, to laboratories and data centers.
