UGI Utilities, Inc. New Corporate Headquarters

            Location: Denver, Pennsylvania

Design Statement: Bernardon provided architecture and
interior design services for an 80,000 SF, three-story corporate
headquarters building for UGI Utilities, Inc. in rural Lancaster
            County.

The 12-acre site mixes external visibility from major circulation
paths with internal views of vegetation. Employing a linear
embrace of the landscape allows the building to achieve the
balance of presence and privacy, framing views to nature
while shielding occupants from the activity of the surrounding
highways. The building is composed of simple brick masses
woven together by contemporary glass elements, highlighting
a traditional organization moving forward with advances in
technology. This rhythm creates a streetscape-like appearance collaboration, UGI’s departments and employees are linked by an internal
that reduces the scale of an otherwise large building. street known as “Innovation Alley” that brings people and ideas together.
The concept of a streetscape is then carried through to From all parts of the building, this street leads to Central Park, which
the interior. In order to create connection and help foster provides abundant views to nature as a backdrop to the interactive hub of a
company embracing a new, brighter future.
