BENJ File No. JM200913
Dear Mr. Sgroi:
Thank you for this opportunity to present our Contract for Professional Engineering Services to be
rendered in connection with the above-referenced project. As we understand at this time, you are proposing
to develop the parcels with a new Fire Station. It is understood that the existing fire station will be removed
and that a new facility will be construction on the 1.3774 acre parcel. We understand the final design and
layout of the Fire station has yet to be determined; however, we expect 16,000-20,000 SF to be appropriate.
The site will also contain related site amenities and improvements inclusive of parking, access drives,
lighting, landscaping, utilities, and stormwater management facilities.
As we further understand, we will prepare an updated boundary, topographic and utility survey for
this site, reflecting the information required for design and submission. This survey will be available on
computer diskette in AutoCAD format.
Our firm’s obligation as defined within this Contract will be to prepare the survey and site
engineering documents for initial submission and to assist with processing the forms necessary to initiate
application to the appropriate permitting entities for approval of these improvements. Note that this project
will also require services of a geotechnical engineer which we have included in our scope as a below the
line service for initial subsurface evaluation, recommendations and stormwater management evaluation.
As per your request we have broken our services down into five phases:
• Phase 1 – Schematic Design
• Phase 2 – Design Document
• Phase 3 – Construction Document
• Phase 4 – Bidding
• Phase 5 – Construction Contract Administration
