Dear Amanda and Matthew,
Bernardon is pleased to submit our response to the Request for Proposal for consideration of providing services to
AtlantiCare for the proposed Manahawkin Ambulatory Surgery Center. We are excited at the opportunity to team
again with AtlantiCare and The Carlin Collaborative and to present our credentials and healthcare architecture team
to you in person.
Our team of design professionals has an ideal mix of ambulatory surgery center design experience, vision, and
management abilities with a high level of quality, client-oriented project delivery, and local representation. We offer
the following unique assets:
■ The Bernardon Team has extensive healthcare experience including collaborating on various
primary care, specialty care, and Ambulatory Surgery projects with AtlantiCare, Clio Health Lancaster,
Nemours|A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, Christiana Care Health System, the Rothman Institute,
and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Of particular relevance is our recent work in Lancaster,
PA on a specialty care hospital for Aspire Ventures and Clio Health Lancaster.
■ A staff of 78 professionals comprised of integrated architecture, interior design, and landscape
architecture studios allows us to provide the necessary manpower and support. A key team member
is Michael Bach, AIA, ACHE as Senior Project Architect. Michael has extensive experience in
ambulatory surgery center and healthcare design including many projects for other regional health
systems.
■ Our In-house Quality Assurance Program focuses on a “fresh eyes” third party review process.
The goal of the program is to build high quality into the design process and lessen the reliance on last-
minute error detection.
■ We are passionate advocates of environmentally responsible, LEED certified design solutions,
and we are excited to extend our leadership in energy and environmental design on this opportunity.
In the pages that follow, we will further illustrate the experience, qualifications, and depth of expertise of Bernardon.
Additionally, we accept the terms, conditions, requirements, and scope as outlined in the Request for for Architectural
and Engineering Services dated May 24, 2021. We are confident that we have assembled a team that will provide an
exceptional quality of service to AtlantiCare for the new Manahawkin Ambulatory Surgery Center project.
Respectfully submitted,
William E. Holloway, AIA, LEED AP | Principal
