Chestnut Hill Apartments

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Design Statement: Situated along a tree-lined street in the
picturesque Chestnut Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia,
Bernardon is designing the first new apartment building
within the neighborhood in decades.
The community will feature 275 market rate apartments
(average unit size: 880 SF) with two private courtyards,
16,000 SF of indoor amenity space, and 160 parking spaces
(under building plus surface).
Organization of this program varies from traditional
developments as the amenity space will be located within
a two-story sloped roof structure on the site of the former
Friends Meeting House at the corner of the property.
Varied roof lines and massing will be constructed by multiple
types of construction including Type V and Type III.
