AtlantiCare Building 1200 at Egg Harbor Township Healthpark
Owner/User: AtlantiCare Health System
Location: Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey
Design Statement: Along with healthcare architect Pescatore
& Associates, LLC, Bernardon is currently providing design
services for a medical office building for the AtlantiCare
Health System. The new two-story building will house a
25,000 SF surgical center on the first floor and 23,000 SF
of tenant office space on the second floor. The building’s
orientation and fenestration allow for maximum northern light
to illuminate the public spaces on the front façade.
Monumental, snake-like forms, reminiscent of the ancient
Greek symbols for medicine and healing, wrap the public
entry/exit vestibules, while wood-tone cladding material on
the “underbelly” of the forms brings warmth to the visitor
experience. A central canopy between the vestibules provides
efficient, vehicular protection for patient drop-off and pick-up
activities. .
