Annual Day Main School
Annual Day is an occasion of celebration and felicitation, when students can showcase their yearlong
learning and efforts in the areas of curricular and co-curricular activities. It is a proud moment for
students, parents and the school when students display their wonderful performances and receive
honours for their curricular and co-curricular accomplishments.
A rainbow of colours unfurled on stage as Goldcrest High, Vashi celebrated its much-awaited
'Annual Day' on Monday, 16 December 2019. The spectacular show and the students' performances were
woven around the theme of the year “The Child is Father of The Man” from the famous poem, ‘My
Heart Leaps Up’, also known as ‘The Rainbow’ by William Wordsworth.
The honourable chief Guest, Mr Sachin Pilot, the Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, arrived along
with our esteemed dignitaries, Mr Diliprao Deshmukh, the Senior Trustee of Manjara Charitable Trust,
Mr Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh, Cabinet minister for Medical Education and Cultural Affairs for the State
of Maharashtra and Ms Aditi Amit Deshmukh, Head Goldcrest Group of schools and graced the
occasion.
Mr Sachin Pilot, in his speech emphasised on three things, the importance of education among
underprivileged strata of society, followed by uplifting the economic status of the population and lastly
to offer a level playing field to all. He was impressed by the impeccable performance by nearly 1000
students on stage, spread across different grades of the school.
The different characters from the Hindu Mythology 'The Mahabharata' were portrayed by the students
who were able to gain insights about our rich culture and tradition that has existed for centuries. While
some students performed dances with poise and glee, others got an exposure to express thoughts and
gestures through drama, using their facial expressions to convey emotions and characterised their role
aptly. The participants delighted all with their dramatic skills. The sensitivity with which each character
was portrayed was indeed commendable and provided food for thought. The event was a grand success as
a result of the fabulous execution and meticulous efforts put in by the students, the teachers and the
entire staff of Goldcrest.
The Annual Prize Distribution felicitation was a moment of pride and honour for all the achievers and
prize winners of the school who were awarded for their Academic as well as Co-Curricular
accomplishments.
The spellbound audience cheered and applauded for the students throughout the event. Overall, the
celebration was a grand success and motivated students to establish new goals and reach further
milestones in their next Academic Year.
