“The start of the 2019 hurricane season is only a maSer of a few months away. Once again we must together make ourselves ready to face the unpredictable. Prepara@on, as always, will be key. Under the guidance of DDME that process is already underway.
These Islands and the more par@cularly the people who make their homes in them, are resilient. We saw that resilience in ac@on in 2017. We must however learn from past experience to make our prepara@ons even beSer this year.
I hope that the upcoming hurricane season will be a compara@vely quiet one for the Turks and Caicos Islands. But we cannot rely on that and must again as communi@es and as families and individuals make ourselves ready.”
