My recommendation is Lucy Pearman (Monkey Barrel, 6.30pm). Every now and

then you see a comedian and think ‘I wish I’d thought of that’. I got this feeling
repeatedly watching Lucy Pearman’s one-woman show Maid Of Cabbage. I

happened to be on the bill with her in a club about a year ago and was so stunned by

her inventiveness I actually bought a ticket to see her at the Soho Theatre. I’m in
Edinburgh for just two nights this year for the book festival and have already booked

tickets to see her latest stuff.Harry Hill is at Edinburgh Book Festival on 11 August.
