 President’s Message
by Peggy Brown
In the midst of all the trials and tribulations we have all faced worldwide, I am proud of our Centered Riding organization and especially proud of you, our membership.
How many times in the past weeks and months were you able to come back to the teach- ings of Sally Swift in order to find much needed calmness, balance, and solid ground be- neath your feet? I remember clearly the day Sally took me aside and reminded me to always remember that centering was not only for balance but that the center was a place of great clarity, a place to find energy and power, and perhaps most important, a place to find great peace.
Sally spoke of attending the funeral of a friend and how a family member stepped up to the front of the church to speak but became so choked up with emotion that they could not talk. Sally said: “I sat there in my pew and I breathed and I centered and I sent to him strength and calmness so that he could pull himself together and was able to speak calmly and clearly.”
Sally genuinely believed that she could give others these gifts by finding strength, balance, and calmness within herself; this is the true foundation of her teaching. As you go forward into an uncertain future know that you too have the gift to find in yourself what you would like to give to others, your community leaders, health care heroes, your loved ones, your friends, and your horses. You have the peace and the power within your center to support you and to guide you through these difficult times.
Thank you, Sally Swift.
