electronic air suspension. Unique to Land Rover, a 3D surround camera with wade sensing uses ultrasonic sensors in the door mirrors to visually and audibly alert you if the water approaches the vehicle’s maximum wading depth.
Despite its old-school features and reputation for ruggedness, however, the Land Rover Defender is equipped with an array of customer comforts such as air suspension, a 360-degree off- roading camera, computer-controls, and more. Buyers may opt for either a 90- or 110-body design, with up to six seats in the 90 and the option of a third row with 5+2 seats in the 110. There are six models available on 110 and a first edition only available on 90 – and four distinctive accessory packs. There are endless opportunities for customization.
An additional enticement is the fact that the Defender’s exterior design is quite impressive for an SUV. From the front, the vehicle
shows off a raised hood, sculpted grille and detailing, and round headlights. From the rear, the vehicle looks appears modern and uber-trendy due to details such as a side-opening tailgate with an externally mounted full-size spare wheel and distinctive taillights.
The Defender’s interior is finished in a highly durable textured powder coat, extending to the steering wheel and doors. Grained leather seats and canvas-inspired woven wool textiles ensure durability. There is also a choice of veneers and finishers on the console, including an open pore wood available with walnut or dark oak veneer.
For the children, Land Rover even offers a LEGO Technicä Defender building kit that will get them psyched for eventual car ownership.
