Week 2
Commence ‘homework assignment’ – Letter of Responsibility
Steps:
1. Husband asks wife which top 2 he should work on (this doesn’t necessarily have to come from the letter of responsibility)
2. The top 2 must be behaviours that are small enough to be
worked on daily
3. Wife explains what behaviours can correct the identified
mistakes (top 2)
4. Husband records this on something he will always be able to
access; e.g. phone, card, etc.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 for the wife

Husband to schedule up to 2 hours for this meeting
Follow the ‘talk time’ format
Husband reads first
Wife is only allowed to respond, if at all, at the end and in a positive way; e.g. ‘thank you for sharing’, ‘I could see how hard that was for you, thank you’
Switch roles
Weeks 2 and 3
1. Continue to improve your personal relationship with God and stay in contact with your Accountability Partner
2. Have at least 4 ‘talk times’ per week
3. Each person reads alone, 2 Samuel 11-12 and Psalm 51
Week 3
Each person identifies their Top 2 mistakes and develops a plan for correction
Work on your daily corrective behaviours and get feedback/updates in your ‘talk times’
Use ‘talk times’ to discuss one another’s progress
4. Discuss the readings at your ‘talk times’ – ‘what do these passages communicate about true repentance?’
5. Within 7 days, write your letter of responsibility, including the four elements of repentance
6. Read your letters to each other, only making positive comments and not addressing any topic in detail
7. Record your top 2 mistakes and how to correct them
8. Work on correcting your ‘top 2’
