An explanation of some environmental terms from the
Environment: The air, water and land in or on
which people, animals, and plants live.
Climate Change: Changes in the world’s weather, in particular
the fact that it is believed to be getting warmer as a result of
human activity
Conservation: The protection of plants and animals, natural areas, and
interesting and important structures and buildings, especially from the
damaging effects of human activity.
Carbon Footprint: Someone’s carbon footprint is a measurement of
the carbon dioxide that their activities produce.
Recycling: The activity of treating materials or products using a special
industrial process so that they can be used again.
