Introducing, the

Swansea Seabin!

This Seabin has been installed at Swansea Marina as part of PUMP
a trial to help keep the marina clean and protect the marine
environment. Keep Wales Tidy will monitor what the bin collects
and the impact it has on wildlife.

How does it work?

1. The Seabin moves up and down with the tides collecting
floating litter.

2. Water is sucked in from the surface by a pump and passes
through a ‘catch bag’ inside.

3. The water is then pumped back out leaving the litter and
debris trapped inside until it can be disposed of.
