Maintenance Tips For PCM Etching Equipment Lubrication Of Plastics
Important Considerations For Lubrication
• Don’t use mineral oil based lubricants on plastic
• Avoid over lubrication, especially with the silicone greases
• Lubricants can fall or drip on the conveyor system and damage products
• Lubricants can retain dirt and scale and become abrasive
• Lubricating plumbing unions, union ball valves, etc. can make disassembly easier
• Use care, over tightening lubricated plastic fittings can cause them to break
• Do not use lubricants on any machine parts that contact production products
traveling through the machine
• Do not use plastic lubricants for metal components, ex. gear boxes, and motors, unless specified by the manufacturer.
