Five minute TED talk about any subject about media and technology that interests you or impacts society. Topic must be approved by the professor ahead of time.
Group Project Presentation # 3
Group project status report. Midway through the group project process, we will evaluate if the problem/solution is still viable, and a review of how the team is operating.
Final Presentation (25% of grade): Students will actively participate in the class project by working with their team to produce a tech- based solution to a social based problem. The professional presentation should include how the solution improves the world yet, be realistic about potential pitfalls or dangers the solution may cause. ongoing problems that have the potential to spin out of control.
Final Reflection Essay or Daily Diary (15%)
During the final week, students will be asked to answer reflection questions about what they have learned during the quarter that will includes references to: the readings and class assets, discussions and project participation.
Late Policy: Unless otherwise stated, I do not accept late submissions. Any assignment will be considered late and subject to a penalty of one letter grade for everyday that it is late. Each student will be allowed to resubmit any quiz or presentation once for a better grade after receiving my feedback and with my approval.
Plagiarism: Academic plagiarism is using another person's words and ideas as though they were your own in the context of university writing and publishing. It is easy to avoid plagiarism: simply put the material you have taken from someone else's writing in quotation marks and cite the person's name and publication in your paper.
