Salawat and greetings to the wonderful Prophet SAW, his family,
and friends in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious and Merciful.
To begin, I would like to express my gratitude to my committee for
their support and hard work in ensuring the success of the Arau
International Poetry Festival 2021.

The AIPF 2021’s writing project is an initiative of the RIG Digital
T
e

Communicators and Suara Kreatif Madani (SUKMA) which
consists of lecturers from APB and ACIS, also involving lecturers
from other faculties to make this project a reality. The creative
writing industry is never bleak because society is always thirsting
for writing that is useful, close to the heart, touching and
instructive. It is also a process for a creative outlet, especially

during the challenging times of Covid -19.

The AIPF 2021 Project has provided space and chances for poets
to share their experiences, talents, and lessons learnt with readers
through multilingual poems. The poets in this project are not only
from UiTM, but also from a variety of other institutions, including
lecturers, staff, and students. Universities from China and
Indonesia have also taken part. As a result, the project has a lot of
meaning, which is reflected in many of the poems.

More than 100 poems were written as a result of this effort, but
only 82 were selected for publication. The languages spoken are
English, Bahasa Melayu, Mandarin, Tamil, and French.
Congratulations! Hopefully, the Arau International Poetry Festival
will have many more literary projects in the future.

Finally, it is hoped that this AIPF 2021 writing initiative would

benefit everyone and leave knowledge for future generations.
Continue to create poetry from the heart; it will touch others’ hearts
too.
