Chronicles of a Grenadian American Boy in Turks & Caicos Islands
We were both a bit skeptical, after all… just picture
thousands of people coated in old engine oil,
black and glistening... with big chains around their
necks, horns on their heads, lips dripping red
liquid… some even had snakes… and they would
all be chanting “Ooh Lay Ooh Laa Jab Jab!!” all to
the sounds of conch shells and goat skin drums.
I returned to Providenciales with fond and
exciting memories of Grenada. We enjoyed the
experience again in the years to come… but little
did I know that in 2019 after another tremendous
visit to Grenada, that in early 2020, the world will
be facing a major crisis.
