Christmas
The whole house erupted with laughter. We paid
keen attention to what they were saying with
great amusement. I thought to myself, if I tried
one of those strokes now, I would never hear the
end of it.
After the meal was finished everyone retired to
the living room, where we went through the old
photo albums. There the memories came
flooding back once more and out came the
stories. It was a night of nostalgia. We laughed so
hard that we cried. The adults were filled with so
much emotion of just being in each other’s
company that a few tears were even shed. We got
settled into our beds way past midnight. Between
sleep and wake I could still hear my aunts and
uncles chatting with excitement.
The next week was spent going out to various
picnic spots. We went to the Owia Salt Pond, and
hiked to the La Soufriere Volcano.
