lying Kites in my small, quiet and friendly

community Annandale, is one of the most

exciting things anyone can do, especially for the

boys around my age.

Flying kites is usually done around Easter Time.
Easter is when we celebrate the death, burial, and

resurrection of Jesus Christ but is also known as

the “Kite Season.” I think that they have chosen

the correct time for such a splendid activity.

During this time of the year, it is very windy and
as any Caribbean person would know; kites need

heavy wind to go up quickly in the sky.

Sometimes they get lost behind the clouds but

that’s all in the fun.

My friends and I get very anxious when the

season comes around every year. Before our
Easter vacation, we plan how and when we are

going to fly our flexy or bamboo kites.

We usually save money from the start of the year

to buy paper and glue.
