Many pet families are struggling with finances during the challenging times which we currently live.

Of course, caring for our companion animals normally falls near the top of the priority list, but many
families are finding it difficult to feed their pets, in addition to meeting other essential obligations.
There’s the risk a beloved pet may be surrendered to a shelter—or worse, abandoned-- if a family cannot
afford to feed it. That’s where our program Curbside Kibble Express comes in.

If an adult in your family has lost his or her job, been laid off, or has had their work hours re-
duced, Curbside Kibble Express is designed for you. It can match you with a donor family (you can
remain anonymous to them, if you’d like) that will donate the cost of your pet’s food, so there will be
one less thing for you to worry about.

            Here’s how it works-

            • If you’d like to receive (or provide) assistance, go to our website, TheCrossingsAnimalSocie-
ty.org. There, you can safely, securely and privately complete a registration form. If you are in need of
assistance, within 48 hours, CAS will match you with a donor.

            • You will be contacted by a CAS staff member or volunteer, who will be your contact person
throughout the program. She or he will let you know when your food is ready for curbside pickup (2 to
3 days or less), and answer any questions you may have.

            • The recipient: chooses the local pet store most convenient to them and the exact type of food
their pet eats—no upset stomachs or finicky eaters! The stores that are participating in Curbside Kibble
Express (Pet Supplies Plus in Levittown, Rosedale Mills in Pennington, and Delray True Value in New
Hope) are kindly offering a discount for the cost of the pet food. The program coordinator reaches out to
the pet store and obtains the price for a month’s worth of food. Then s/he contacts the donor family,
who makes a donation for that amount through our website. CAS then places the order and pays for the
food. Recipient families continue to receive assistance every month for as long as they need it.

Donor families: donate monthly for a month, two months, during COVID-19, or for as long as a need ex-
ists. Right now, CAS has a number of donor families ready and willing to help families that need assis-
tance (but we could use more). This program not only benefits the recipient pet family, but also mem-
bers of the community who are animal lovers and want to help in any way they can. It also supports pet
            stores that are local businesses.

Note: The recipient (or donor) can request anonymity if they want, or they can let the other family
                                                    know who they are.
