(7) The examination on the pier of all
suspicious persona landing from

(8) Maintenance generally of all law and
order in the town.
The Amir will support the Balludiyeh and the
officials appointed by the Baliadiyeh to the best of
hie power and at all times in the execution of their
duty.
The Amir will collect no taxes whatever, this
duty will devolve on the Municipality. In no my will
tlie Amir interfere with mutters connected with purely
Municipal affairs unless asked to do so by the Rais-
al-Balladiyeh.
The pay of the Staff employed by the Amir will
be made over by the Baliadiyeh monthly. The men will
be paraded at the Customs House on the last day of each
month by the Amir and the Mudir-al-Baliadiyeh will
personally make each individual payment in preoonce
of the Amir, taking the payees receipt.
Should a robbery of a shop take place at night,
and proper explanation not be forthcoming from the
Aflriir, then the latter will be held responsible for
finding either the robber or the value., of the property
stolen.
IV. poms OF BALLAD 1YEH COUNCIL.
The Baliadiyeh has only power to deal with
offences against the Municipal Bye-tews. Such as
offences against cleanliness,petty evasion of
taxation, etc,
A list of Municipal Bye-Laws iB attached and may
from time to time, at the discretion of the Ruler
and on the advice of the Political Agent and Balia-
diyeh be added to or emended.
