NOTE ON THE POLITICAL SITUATION IE BAHRAIN NOVEMBER 1931.

Bahrain is in a constant state of unrost owing to tho Political
intrigues of u small party unucr the leadership of ohoikli Abdulla,
the youngest son of the Ruler, ana as tho rosult of years of
oppression by tho ruling family. Instances of this oppression aro
far too numerous to quoto, but dotuils aro on record of a largo
number of cases of recent aato, which incluae il.logal soizuro of
property, wrongful imprisonment with cruelty, ana political
murders, for which no one has boon brought to trial, ana no effort
                    maao to-enforce justice.

all have become intonsoly dissatisfied with the existing state
of alfairs. Por somo years past succossivc Political agents have
rocordod the highly unsatisfactory state of the uaministration
which is far behind the timo3 in comparison with other Arab statos.
