                           Asbestos of fine quality has been found in considerable quantity in the neighbourhood of
                        Kirman, but the expense of carriage to the sea will probably prevent the mines being profitably
                        worked.
                           Persian ports have not contributed much to the demand for tonnage during the part year
                                               owing to the interdict on exportation of cereals. Freight*
                                Shipping.
                                                for outward cargoes have not altered,,but homeward freights
                        have steadily declined.
                           Tlio French line of steamers, Messrs. Poing, Destero, Mesmcr & Co., lias been discontinued,
                        and a now English Company is projected to run between England and Busrah.
                                                 The exchange on Bombay was rather higher than in 1884,
                                Exchange.
                                                being from 250 to 2G2 brans per 100 rupees for cheques.
                                                 There was a decline in the export of pearls.
