An interesting and exhaustive report was
drawn up in November 1907 by Mr. Vice-Consul
Chick of Busbire on the operations of the
Hamburg-America Line in the Persian. Gulf
during the first year of their venture, and on the
bearing of this venture on the prospects of British
commerce, The report was accompanied by
detailed statistics.
The main conclusions arrived at were as
follows
