Ploase refer go your domi-officiul letter N0.447-2E
dated the 18ch February 19d5.
8. 1 have myself recently discussed the question of the
Technical School with Anderson. As far as I can ascertain
Anderson is vory much in favour of taking students struight
into the work-shops and giving them individual tuition while
actually employed on Company's work. I said that if the Bahrain
Petroleum Company were not interested in the work of the Tech
nical school either as it is now or as it might bo in the future
then the Bahrain Government would have to decide whother it was
desirable for the Teclinical johool to bo continued knowing that
the studonts on finishing their course are unlikely to obtain
employment in the Oil company. I stated that the Bahrain
Government were not in need of financial assistance to continue
the Technical School and that it was entirely a question whether
the expenditure would bo Justified by the results, At the
suggestion of Hanna, who was prosent during our conversation,
it was decided that no decision would be taken until after the
arrival of Hamilton and tho Directors of the California
Standard Oil Company and the Texas corporation, You will
locoiloct that those gontloraon arc expected here about the
boginning of this month.
3. I am leaving a note for pelly suggesting that ho should
re-opon tho question as soon as Hamilton und his companions
have left, with u viow to discovering whether tho Bahrain
Petroleum company wish to shouldor tho responsibility for tech-
nloui education in Bahrain or not. In my own opinion the
