PERSONALIA
Dr. James Cantine, at the Meeting of General Synod in June, presented
the greetings of the Arabian Mission in connection with the Tercentenary
Commemoration of the home Church. Dr. Cantine was the first member
and one of the two founders of the Arabian Mission and the founder of
the United Mission in Mesopotamia, whose greetings he also presented to
General Synod.
Dr. Cantine crowns his distinguished missionary service by returning
to Mesopotamia to give a few more years to the presentation of Jesus
Christ to the followers of the Prophet of Islam. He sailed from New
York on this errand on August 25th.
Dr. Samuel M. Zwemer has spent the summer in visits to missionary
conferences in northern Europe, greatly stimulating the intercut of thi
Christian people of these countries in work amongst Moslems.
Rev. and Mrs. D. Dykstra, after an active furlough in visiting churches
in the Middle West, sailed for Arabia on September 25th.
Miss Fannie Lutton has been spending her vacation in visiting Missions
in the Near East.
In accordance with the arrangements previously announced, the follow-
ing have also sailed for the field, having completed their furloughs ia i
America: The Misses Ruth and Rachel Jackson, Miss Cornelia Dalcn--
berg—all on August.16th.
The following have also sailed (August 25th) to join the United Mis-
sion in Mesopotamia: Rev. and Mrs. John S. Badeau (R.C.A.) ; Rev. and
Mrs. J. C. Glessner, Miss Effie May House (R.C.U.S.).
