                                      The Annual Meeting of the Arabian Mission was held in Kuwait in »
                                   early November. In order to save expense in time and money, this was

                                   a delegated meeting, one representative being present from each station •
                                   The members of the Mission resident in Kuwait attended the meeting, but i
                                   not as voting members.
                                                                                                   ■ •!
                                      Rev. E. E. Calverley has been chosen Treasurer of the Mission in place  1
                                   of Rev. J. E. Moerdyk whose furlough is due.
                                      The following members of the Mission are returning to America oa
                                   furlough in the spring of 1929: Rev. James E. Moerdyk, Mrs. E. E.
                                   Calverley, Dr. and Mrs. W. J. Moerdyk. Dr. and Mrs. Moerdyk wel­
                                   comed into their home on October 23rd a little daughter.
                                      Mrs. E. E. Calverley has been appointed the delegate of the Mission
                                   to attend, on her homeward journey, the Meeting of the Missionary Council
                                   for Western Asia and Northern Africa which will have its annual session
                                   in Cairo.
                                      Information has been received of the birth on December 8th of a little
                                   son in the home of Rev. and Mrs. G. E. De Jong in Kuwait, to which

                                   Language Study.                                       '
                                      Miss Swantina De Young, having completed her two years of Lm.;
                                   guage Study, has been temporarily assigned to the Basrah Girls* School -
                                   The reason for this temporary assignment is explained by the announce-
                                   ment of Miss De Young’s engagement to be married to Rev. Mr. Joner
                                   of the Keith-Falconer Mission at Aden.
                                      After one year of Language Study in Baghdad in the home of ha.
                                   father and mother, Dr. Esther I. Barny will continue her study in Bahrain,
                                   which the Mission has designated as the station for language students, tak*
                                   ing the place of Kuwait which has been the centre for study in recent yean
                                      Dr. and Mrs. W. H. Storm and Miss M. N. Tiffany, M.D., have alio-
                                   successfully completed their first year of Language Study.
                                      Rev. and Mrs. Dirk Dykstra arrived in Basrah on October 30th.' Thcy,!*
                                   will make their home there for some time while Mr. Dykstra undertake;
                                   the superintendency of the building of the Girls’ School and the Ladic^
                                   Residence in that Station.
