                                     CHAPTER IL
Note on events in the Mishun and Gacii Qajuouli auea dutuno the yeah
                                         1934.
Active operations in the Area have remained suspended throughout the
           year under review.
There is still one European in charge of the Area, who is based on
G a no well, but who makes, a tour of the whole Area every 5 days.
The 3 wells two of which are registering gas pressure are regularly
inspected and the pressures recorded and the well-head fittings frequently
           examined and serviced.
The roads throughout the Area arc maintained and kept in good order as
also arc the 3 cross river ferries at Khalafabad, Hindiyan and the Zurrah river
           near Gach Qaraguli. '
The 3 Wireless transmitting and receiving stations at Gach Qaraguli,
Ganoweh and Hindiyan arc kept in commission and there is a Wireless
           Operator stationed at each installation.
Guarding arrangements at Gach Qaraguli and Mishmv are under the
control of a small military post in charge of a Sergeant stationed at the
former post. His men are equally divided between the two areas and in addi
tion there are a certain number of local wacthmcn provided by the Company to
assist the military in these guarding duties.
At Ganoweh the guards are locally, engaged watchmen, and during the
course of the year they were disarmed by the local Officer in Charge of Aranieh.
There is, however, only one armed Amnieli soldier stationed in the Company’s
Area there, the rest of the Amnieh detachment being located at the village some
           11 miles away.
In September last several miles of water pipe line, required elsewhere by
the Company, was taken up and transported to 'Ganoweh for Abadan.
The general situation throughout the Area has been satisfactory during
the whole of the period under review.
